One unforgettable experience was my visit to Utah. This remarkable city created a variety of memories that will always stick with me. Some spectacular places I visited include Arches National Park, Bear Lake, Ensign Peak Nature Park, Bonneville Salt Flats, Weber River, and Olympic Park. Arches National Park gave me a warm welcome to the beautiful state. One of the best in the country, this park presented all visitors many points of awe. The moment I entered, a gasp escaped my throat. Countless rocks piled atop one another, enormous natural arches, mountains of red, this scenery left me speechless. One issue I ran into was the boiling temperature. Hiking long distances was not an option therefore, I visited different landmarks through a car, stepping down to enjoy each one. A helpful addition would have been water stops or fast food places because the visit lasted around 4 hours lasting this long without refreshments created a few issues - especially with the heat. A structure that stood out was Balancing Rock. Balancing Rock is a natural two-rock tower where the size of the top rock exceeds the bottom one. The reason this caught my eye was simply because it was standing while nearly defying gravity. Another amazing view was Devil’s Garden. This was an extremely long arch that tied the visit together. To reach it, there was a quick hike that also contained various structures to enjoy. What made this place so special for me was that everything was natural. The redness of the area came from chemical reactions the different arches and shapes came from erosion. Nothing was man made, portraying the beauty and power of nature. Although Arches had its pros and cons, it was certainly a great experience. Bear Lake was my next stop. Bear Lake is a freshwater lake with sand to replicate a beach. When I entered this wonderful spot, I first caught sight of speeding jet skis in the water. I gasped as one of them made a full circle while accelerating in speed. After booking a slot to use one, I sprinted to the shore. I listened to the safety instructions then helped to drag a jet ski out to the shore, jumping with excitement. Once we finally finished all the preparations, I hopped on the vehicle behind someone to drive it, beginning the exhilarating ride. The moment it started, I let out a loud, high-pitched scream - it was so fast! My heart jumped to my stomach I grasped the handle bars tightly as the ride kept boosting in speed. Every turn moved the vehicle to various angles while every acceleration allowed it to jump up and down. At one point, the jet ski reached a tremendous speed, and when a turn was made, I fell out of my seat. Stuck in the side of the boat, nearing the water, I screamed for help as the boat nearly capsized. I luckily got help and was pulled up before chaos broke loose. One improvement would have been to include seatbelts or something to prevent these types of accidents on the jet skis. We reached the end of our time limit therefore, we had to turn to the shore and leave our vehicle. Jet skiing at Bear Lake obviously created a thrilling and memorable experience. I also enjoyed hiking through Ensign Peak Nature Park. This is a natural park with a lush hiking trail that leads to Ensign Peak. Looking up at the steep trail, I thought about its difficulty while beginning the hike. After a few strides, my calves immediately began to throb with pain from the incline in the trail. Keep going, keep going, I constantly reminded myself in order to keep going. Despite the toughness and pain this activity inflicted, the astonishing landscape made a smile appear on my face.
